Annan Thampi leads by a mile

Finally after some weeks which registered just average collections, this was the one that gave strong positive signals to the box office. A couple of films that were released for this Vishu, made some great collections, with the summer holiday season. Leading the list, as expected is ‘Anna Thampi'.

1. ‘Annan Thampi' - It's ‘Annan Thampi’ everywhere. The movie recorded the best of the first week collections ever registered for a Mollywood movie. Grossing around three crores in just eight days is not a mean thing for a Malayalam cinema. With the larger amounts it had fetched as channel rights and by selling out rights, the movie will move into profits even from its week two. The film already has become the biggest hit in Malayalam, according to the first week collections from its 75 centres. But the collections of this mass entertainer are slowly dwindling in centers where it was released in multiple centers. As of now, it remains in its no.1 slot.

2. ‘Innathe Chintha Vishayam' - This Sathyan movie is remaining steady in Box office especially in the bigger cities. The movie, even after the good publicity campaigns, is showing a drop in collections in lesser centers. Redundant script lines, mediocre music, less newspaper publicity and not so appealing direction are in the way of the film, becoming a big hit. Anyway, will manage to become a hit and many in the trade believe that the film will get a long run, with the marketing capabilities of Ashirwad cinemas and central pictures.

3. 'Mulla' - This Dileep movie has invited fresher interest in its fourth week and fared better than expected in the last weekend. Expected to become an average earner primarily due to its better collections in bigger cities and the loyal vacation audiences. All the songs of the movies set to music by Vidyasagar, are the chart toppers.

4. ‘Cycle’- This Johnny Antony movie registers average collections, last week. Due to low print publicity, this movie, infact the first major hit of the year may find it difficult to reach the hundred days mark.

5. ‘Katha Parayumpol’ -This Mammootty -Sreenivasan starrer now in its 125 days, still holds strong in the fifth position. The film registers average collections in metros

Mohanlal backs out from the Fire Magic

Under pressure from friends and relatives and fans,superstar Mohanlal has backed out of the magical feat`burning illusion’ has he planned to conduct on April 27 as precursor to world magic meet,`Vismayalam 2008’, at Thiruvanathapuram between May 1 and 4.Lal,it is said,was being tutored for the feat by magician Gopinath Muthukad.
Meanwhile,Gopinath has,in a press conference on Wednesday,charged his rival magician Samraj for creating a storm of protests and warning against the film star doing such a dangerous feat.Samraj has accused Muthukad of taking the `precious life of Mohanlal’ lightly.The magician and some 300 others had launched a campaign, Bachao Mohanlal’ which seems to have scared the actor’s family and friends.
The deep concern of stars’ family,AMMA[Association of Malayalam Movie Artists] and mass suicide threats of fans have finally prevailed upon Lal to drop the idea.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor,the conscious keeper of Lal has confirmed that the actor wouldn’t perform the trick at Chandrashekaran Nair stadium on April 27.He,however,said that it was not the star’s decision but it was magician Muthukad who has backed out first.”
Magician Muthukad said that it was a collective decision.“We have been regularly in touch with each other these days.We found that the pressure was too much for him.His fan’s means so much to him so both of us decided to drop the idea” Muthukad said.
Last Monday,Samraj held a press conference alleging that Mohanlal is just not trained sufficiently to perform this act.In a recent turning point in this controversy,Samraj was arrested by the police in Kochi during a campaign to ‘save Mohanlal and magic itself’ by entering a freezing mobile mortuary.Later,he was hospitalized when he was found unconscious in the mortuary.
It was stated that Muthukad himself was burnt when he had tried this open air escape stunt in Bahrain six years back.Mohanlal had volunteered to perform the event to encourage youth to take up challenges.

AMMA banned Meera Jamsine from acting in any Malayalam films.

Meera Jasmine has been stung again. Meera Jasmine was hospitalized, earlier this month, after being stung by bees, when shooting for the Telugu film Gorintaku. Now Meera Jasmine has been stung by the Malayalam Film Association - “AMMA” , as they banned her from acting in any Malayalam films, until AMMA lifts the ban.

Meera Jasmine had earlier pulled out of the film “Twenty Twenty”, produced by AMMA for the welfare of the members of AMMA. Meera Jasmine had pulled out due to the clashes in dates, with a Telugu film. However most Malluwood celebrities have accepted to play a role in “Twenty Twenty”, free of cost. AMMA had taken this decision due to the pullout by Meera Jasmine from “Twenty Twenty”.

Preview : Dasavathaaram

Kamal Haasan’s movies are always much-awaited and always create waves, whether they subsequently become flops or hits. No middle-of-the-line approach for one of the biggest talents of twentyfirst century Kollywood.

Himesh Reshammiya and Devi Sri Prasad have composed music for Dasavathaaram. At present, though Devi Sri Prasad is busy with several other projects such as Kanthaswamy, still he accepted the challenge of the background score for Dasavathaaram.

He says, “It will definitely be a challenge as there will be 10 Kamals in the movie and each requires a different tone and mood. The background score will be on the lines of a Hollywood score with each role of Kamal’s getting a different musical score and mood.”

This is the first time in the world that an actor has appeared in 10 roles in a movie.

Mammootty completes 'One Way Ticket'

Mammootty has completed his short cameo donning himself, for the movie 'One way Ticket'.



The actor utilized the dates that he has earmarked for 'Pazhassi Raja', since the shoot for the film got delayed following the tensions that prevailed in Karnataka on the Hokkenekkal project. In the movie, Prithviraj plays the role of a poor educated jeep driver, Kunjali a crazy fan of superstar Mammootty.
‘One Way Ticket’ is the story of crazy fans of superstars who go to any extent, trying to promote the movies of their screen idols. Kunjali is one such person working as the district president of the fans association, even ready to sacrifice their own career trying to promote their favourite stars. The movie depicts the events in the life of Kunjali from the release of the Star movie 'One Way Ticket' to the hundred day celebrations of the movie, in a theatre at Nilamboor. The story and screenplay of the film is by Babu Janardhanan and is directed by Bipin Prabhakar.


For the film, a scene in the original scripts for the next Mammootty movie 'Parunthu' was shot, to show Kunjali meeting the Star in one of his film sets. This is the first time in India, where an original scene of a movie is shot for being used in another movie. The crew of ‘Parunthu', director Padmakumar, scriptwriter T A Rasaaq and cameraman Sanjeev Shankar also participated in the shoot. After completing the shoot for the film, Mammootty even assembled every crew member and cast of the movie for a photo session that he remarked as the one to be used in the hundred day posters of ‘One Way Ticket'.

Mohanlal to perform the 'most adventurous and dangerous' magic show.

It will be a different role for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal as he is all set to perform the 'most adventurous and dangerous' magic show on stage on April 27.The event is a precursor to the International magic convention 'Vismayam 2008' slated for May 1 to 4 in Thiruvananthapuram.
"In films, there are retakes.But in the case of drama and magic shows,there is no retake and I pray to god that the show escape act titled Burning Illusion,becomes a success",Mohanlal told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday."I am taking magic lessons under master magician Gopinath Muthukad,the promoter of Magic Academy for the past one and half years and preparing myself for the act,Mohanlal said."I am fully aware of the risk factor involved in the act and I am confident that I will be able to do it successfully", he said.
The special item will have Mohanlal handcuffed and wrapped in chains with the keys in the hands of dignitaries watching the show.The actor will then be put inside a box,which will be thrown into a ball of fire from where he has to escape.Now with rigorous learning,Mohanlal has succeeded in keeping his mind stable even when his body is wrapped with long iron chains,Muthukad said.The act is organised by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board,State Law Minister M Vijayakumar said.
About 1500 magicians,including street magicians from different parts of the country and abroad,would participate in the Magic Festival organised by state tourism department and Magic Academy.

Review : Santosh Subramaniam

Hats off director Raja and Jeyam Ravi for hitting the bull's eye for the fourth time in a row. The duo continues from where they left in Unakum Enakum to provide a feel-good light-hearted family entertainer sure to be enjoyed with the family.

It is a whiff of fresh air amidst the nauseating action-packed flicks where men run around wielding guns aimlessly and the hero mouthing punch dialogues. The movie probes deep in to the psyche of parents and their grown up children to analyse where and how conflict between them starts. It also presents a solution.

Prakashraj plays a dotting father while Jayam Ravi his callous son. Both have handled their roles with ease and elegance. Both are natural and render justice to their characters. Ravi is bubbling with energy and is enthusiastic on screen. He is charming and elegant. Genelia is the perfect foil for the female lead.

In the role of a innocent and fun-loving girl, she has managed to deliver one of her best performance so far. She is spontaneous as an happy-go-lucky-girl and expressions come out quite comfortably from her. Hitherto she was looked as a glamour doll in Kollywood. Thanks to director Raja, she has managed to prove everyone that she too can sparkle in performance-oriented roles.


Santhanam in the company of Premji Gangai Amaran evokes laughter. His slapstick comedy evokes laughter at several places in the theatre.
The movie has a huge star cast which includes Kousalya, Geetha, Shayaji Shinde, Sathyan and former Indian cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh. All have a contribution to make in the movie. Devi Sri Prasad's pulsating musical score is a major highlight of the movie. The racy numbers linger in our hearts, while his background score sets up the momentum.

Santosh (Jayam Ravi) has everything in life, but in excess amounts. His father, Subramaniam (Prakash Raj), decides on what is good for Santosh and gives him more than what he asks for. But never he gives a chance to his son to express his opinion.


He selects the girl of his choice to Santosh. That is when Santosh meet a bubbly beauty Hasini (Genelia), whom he has waited all his life for. Now he has a complex situation. First he need to propose and win her over. Then convince his over-obsessive father. Then make his ladylove's father accept him. Then break the engagement. How he successfully comes across all these is Santosh Subramaniam.

Raja now joins the big league of directors delivering a movie that will satisfy all sections of the audience. Producer kalpathi Agoram should be equally complemented for churning out the venture.

Santosh Subramaniam is no doubt a film that is sure to spread santhosam (happiness) to one and all.

'Vande Matharam' on July 4

Mammootty, who is presently enjoying the good opening of his 'Annan Thampi', will have his next release on July.
The actor's next movie to get released will be ‘Vande Matharam' which will hit the theatres on July 4. The same movie is made simultaneously in Tamil in the title 'Aaruvadai' which will also grace the theaters on the same day.
Even though ‘Vande Matharam’ will grace only on July, Mammukka's fans may sometimes see him again onscreen, on June itself.
According to the present schedules AMMA's multistarrer 'Twenty Twenty' is expected to grace the theatres on June 27.
Mammootty is in one of the pivotal roles in the movie which also features Lal, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram and Dileep.

Review : Anann Thambi

Annan Thambi is a laugh-a-minute comic escapade that would help boost your spirits and stretch those lips into a wide grin. A delightful blend of high and low humor pulled off splendidly with style, the film is a rib tickler that aims right at your funny bone.

Appu and Achu (Mammootty) are twin siblings who were born with swords drawn at each other and as years pass by, the no-holds-barred bullfight between the two goes on. A highly voluble Appu majestically rules over the Pollachi Market and is wooed by Thenmozhi (Laxmi Rai), niece to his erstwhile-associate-turned-foe Dharmarajan (Rajan P Dev). A dumb Achu meanwhile relives the Puranas in his dad's drama troupe while lamenting a lack of issues even after five years of matrimony with Lekshmi (Gopika).

Anwar Rasheed's Annan Thambi is a double dhamaka with nothing subtle or unique about it, and yet it's a movie that's fashioned to please. You do stand the risk of busting a gut on a couple of occasions despite the film unraveling a tale that's as old as mankind itself. Oh yes, we can see it all coming on time and right in place and we might even rail against it at times; it's nevertheless a charming film made bright by a few droll souls who spread loads of joy and cheer all around.

It's a mixed bag of hilarity in Annan Thambi; there are several of those slightly awkward moments and quite a few of the stomach ripping, laugh 'n roar kind. Brimming with unexpected and often uproarious events, the film strikes just the right balance between the salt and the sugar. Benny's might as a writer lies in the participative nature of his humor. He's quite in the swing of things here and accustomed to the beat of brotherhood and to the bonds that bound us all. He's sharp too and dabbles with a distinctive tone, to provide an appealing finish to his characters.

Rarely has there been an instance of an actor mimicking himself on screen. And when Mammootty does the apparently unthinkable, he drives an audience into a frenzied rapture with his highly infectious comic energy. With a free reign to be insane, the actor is a delight to watch in his dumb act, rediscovering the amusing facets of his personality time and again. The fun contingent with an immensely jovial Suraj Venjarammoodu at its helm, ably propped up by Harisree Ashokan and Salim Kumar stirs up a highly flavorsome concoction, with the right doses of wit, slapstick and gags. Among the lady leads, Gopika puts up a remarkable feat while Laxmi Rai is around with the right dosage of oomph.

Annan Thambi teems with obvious humor and stereotyped characters, and is nonetheless agreeable, mostly because the movie does not pretend to be anything it isn't. It might not be a refined comedy, but it's positively enjoyable since within its formulaic precincts, the humor works unusually well continually. It's a comedy that has likeable, earthy characters as well as consistent laughs which could have done infinitely better with a robust setting as well.

Which is why, stripped down to its core, I would brand Annan Thambi as a Rajamanikyam reincarnate in a dual avatar. And incredible filmmaking this certainly is not, but if you're on the lookout for an entertaining, undemanding couple of hours, you could for sure give Annan Thambi a try.

Review: Innathe Chintha Vishayam

‘Innathe Chintha Vishayam’ is a film with a serious subject and worth a watch. Especially if you are interested in the likes of tearjerker soaps dealing with marital discords. ‘Old wine in a new bottle' may not be the apt adage to describe the film. The plot is not daringly unconventional but it’s packaged refreshingly with multiple dozes of strained relations.

Nine out of ten television soaps have marital discord as its plot. Nine out of ten television soaps have women as their privileged viewers. And this film, meeting the both elements, belongs to that genre. Sathyan is using the tried and tested formula to create movie- soap made for the fair sex, who gives the best support to all his endeavors in the box office. This is one of the films that were made keeping in mind of its strict target audience and marketing strategies. And so it may never fail to bring in applause, at least from some corners.

In fact, the movie superficially sums up many a jilted plight of individuals when they are desperately trying to pick up the pieces after an unequal relationship, where partners are separated on silly issues but is still in need. Trying to dwell on the present scenario and comment on the societal mores of today, the movie finds it hard to effectively convey a precise message about 'understanding' in the place of 'adjustments'.

The movie opens with the voice over of the director who presents three different couples in the verge of disseverance. Dr .Murali Krishanan (Mukesh), the most successful dentist in the city is more interested in having female associations, more than often. He hides them from his wife Teresa (Sukanya), even by assigning male names for them in his mobile. One fine day he is in a tight corner with his wife raiding his mobile contacts, and for evading the conflicts associated, he walks out of her life even leaving his daughter Lakshmi.

The second family, Pithambaran (Vijayaraghavan) and his wife Premila (Mohini) with their lovely children Malavika and Madhavan are leading a good life. But due to increased possessiveness for his wife, Pithambaran returns home from gulf throwing away his good job, and starts escorting his wife all along. He even develops inferiority complex which further complicates things for Premila, ultimately resulting in continuous fights and separation.

And in the third family, Rehna (Muthumani) is not able to continue with her lawyer profession due to the orthodox attitude of her husband and his family. She too walks out of his life, and starts working independently

Into the lives of these three ladies who starts living separately arrives, G K alias Gopakumar, a garment exporter. He has bought the house where Teresa is staying away from her husband Muralikrishnan. Now left in a difficult situation which does not allow G K, to throw out Teresa and her daughter, to establish his office, Gopakumar is trying newer ways to get the couple together. And in the process he meets the other similar ladies who happen to be friends of Teresa. The film follows how G K with his fashion designer Kamala and land Broker Immanuel, succeeds in getting the feuding couples back to lives of reunion.

Mohanlal as G K don't have anything exceptional and is repeating the Good Samaritan act for the umpteenth time, but still it is a pleasure watching him in a role that seldom goes larger than life. There may seem to be some exaggeration in the portrayal of the idealist Gopakumar, but Lal is effortless in presenting the character convincing, with least obvious loopholes. The director who is also credited with writing the script integrates many topical issues in the story, but this time he is consciously making them the centre of our attention in every now and then sequences. The idealistic lines goes up to the level of preaching in the later half, which partially destroys the charm of narratives.

And then there is Meera Jasmine as Kamala with a precious little to do. She says her lines, flutters those eyelashes and looks ravishing. Her repeat act of ‘Rasathanthram’ and ‘Vinodhayathra’ as a girl with a sad past are not inspiring as the original. In terms of chemistry, none of the couples from Mukesh, - Sukanya, Vijayaraghavan - Mohini and Ashokam - Muthmani share any vibes. But all have taken care to do a competent job to display them with no visible warmth.

At times, you do feel the film, almost two and a half hours long, is bit stretched and that it loses pace in the second half after a rollicking first part. In fact is one of those films, that aren’t as much about the happy finale, as it is about the insightful journey about relationships, which is at times, hilarious. And definitely the director falters in getting it around for a more logical climax, which seems forced and infantile with every weak male counterparts mercifully turning up to realize what they have been in their life -chauvinists, freaks and psychos.

Azhakappan has once again excelled behind the camera, with his limited resources capturing the mood of the movie. Ilayaraja gives a couple of hummable tunes that seems to be the recycled versions of his earlier hits in Malayalam. Sai Babu in the costumes and Santhosh Raman in art department had definitely added colors to the proceedings.

Despite its many minuses, ‘Innathe Chintha Vishayam’ is still endurable on account of the subtle smiles that it generates and the running time of just 145 minutes. It is not a bad film to watch at least once, especially because it tries to discuss one of the grave issues that our society faces, and reiterates some of the eroded values and ideals that is presented without too much glorification.

Review : Krazzy 4

Debutante director Jaideep Sen must have foreseen the future of his movie Krazzy 4 and that’s why roped in SRK and Hrithik Roshan to become the saving grace of the movie. But inspite of SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Rakhi Sawant, Ram Sampath (for giving negative publicity for 2 crores), a great star cast and numerology the film turns out to be a dud.

Krazzy 4 is the story about four mental guys Raja (Arshad Warsi), Gangadhar (Rajpal Yadav), Dr Mukherjee (Irrfan Khan), Dabboo (Suresh Menon) and their doc Dr Sonali. Raja is an angry mental man and will hit out at the slightest provocation or even without and has an intermittent explosive disorder in simple words ‘Sarphira’. Dr Mukherjee aka captain of Krazzy4, is a clean freak, wants everything to be perfect and clean and suffers from a personality disorder.

Gangadhar is a schizophrenic who lives in the past and his pals are Nehru, Gandhi, Tilak and Patel. He and his imaginary pals are busy fighting for swaraj and freedom. Last but not the least is cute Dabboo who with his 3/4th pants is everybody’s pet and is frightened to an extent that he doesn’t speak a word.

All hell breaks loose when their savior Dr Sonali takes them out for a cricket match just for a change, Dr Sonali is kidnapped and our Krazzy 4 are left stranded in the big, bad and mad krazzy world. How they survive and rescue their doctor forms the rest of the story.

When Jaideep Sen had power performers like Irrfan Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Suresh Menon and Arshad Warsi he failed to utilize their potential. Suresh Menon who is a terrific performer is kept on mute all the time. Arshad Warsi inspite of having a meaty role fails to deliver as an angry man. The only actor who is the saving grace of K4 is Rajpal Yadav with a rocking performance; perfect comic timing makes him standout amongst others. Juhi Chawla and Irrfan Khan as Mr. tidy.

The craziest thing about the movie is its bad story inspired from Hollywood flick “The Dream Team”, wonder how Senior Roshan approved of it. The script has some unrealistic scenes which makes you go What The F like Raja bumping into his ex-girlfriend Dia Mirza, Dr Mukherjee meeting his daughter on the road, the krazzy guys carrying a successful sting operation and the climax.

The film is 2 hours long and is interesting in the first half, and a bore in the second eventually ending in a bad climax. Both script and screenplay of K4 are bad.

Coming to the highlight of Krazzy 4-The item numbers, I personally liked SRK’s Breakfree more than Hrithiks, but both are great. Rakhi’s item number would appeal to the frontbenchers and will keep them happy. Rajesh Roshan’s music is disappointing but Break Free is awesome (Credit should be given to Rajesh Roshan for composing rest of the song apart from the 6 lifted seconds).

I hope Jaideep Sen comes out with a good movie next time with a powerful story. Meanwhile the audiences wouldn’t be crazy for Krazzy 4.

Trisha and Vijay in Kuruvi audio release on april 16th

Looks like the Kuruvi team has gone back on the decision about the movie’s audio release. Earlier, it was decided to release the movie straight to the audio selling outlets.

However, it is now learnt that a formal audio launch has been decided to be held by the producers on the 16th of April at the Little Flower Convent premises, Mount Road, Chennai.

The event is expected to be attended by the who’s who of the industry and if credible sources are to be believed, Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin will preside over the audio release.

Love stories, especially when served with a sprinkling of family emotions and bonds, never fail to delight- they are evergreen. Santosh Subramaniam is one such movie, it is a tug-o-war between love and family, what to choose when faced with a choice and who will compromise, or would there be a mutual understanding - it’s a debate that’s been on for generations and will go on for all that to follow.

Santosh (Jeyam Ravi) is a lucky boy born with a silver spoon in his mouth, his life lacks nothing. He has wonderful caring parents (Prakash Raj and Geetha) and loving siblings around him, life is great when someone looks at it from outside. But within Jeyam Ravi is frustrated soul and he pours his heart out to Anu Haasan (in a special appearance) which is where the movie begins and ends! Why is he frustrated? Well, that’s what the movie is all about.

Santosh is not a rebel but he wants to meet a girl who he loves and who will in turn love him and he is very particular about it, no matter what. That’s when he comes across Hasini (Genelia), a bubbly, vivacious, ever smiling, innocent girl who seems to have friends everywhere. In a way, she is the type of girl Santosh has never met before and needless to say he is smitten. He is not very good with girls and has to try a few things before becoming a good friend of hers. He is not in two minds, he knows very well that he loves her but something is stopping him from telling her the truth in spite of being pretty confident that she can’t say a ‘No’ to him. But love cannot be hidden or stowed away, it comes out.

But families being families and fathers being fathers, love is not easily accepted. Of course, Prakash Raj has a very strong reason for doing so. However his son’s insistence pushes him to think it over. Prakash Raj agrees to reconsider but the decision has been already made in his mind. The sequence of events that follow are very novel, unique and interesting. That both Santosh and Hasini are from very different backgrounds threatens to stand in the way of their relationship and it very nearly does break them apart. But love is not easily undone and the ending (as in all good love stories) is their union.

What Santosh Subramaniam has in addition to the routine love story is the father-son relationship. It might not be wrong to say that their relationship enjoys more focus in the movie, especially in the second half. Their bond is a complex one, with each one thinking in the best interests of the other but ending up hurting each other. It is in the final portions that Ravi opens his mind and tells Prakash Raj about what is in his heart. The climax is not only about the success of the love story but also about how all members of a family now fully understand each other.
As a movie, Santosh Subramaniam is a well made clean family entertainer. Being the remake of a Telugu superhit Bommarillu, the movie always had expectations but one must not burden the movie with any preconceived notions. Santosh

Subramaniam talks about how love has the power to endear as well as suffocate and that suffocation can turn into rebellion if not resolved. It tells us that the only way to make a person understand is by talking to him/her. If we love someone we must tell them what we like or hate about them. Love is about being honest and love is not only the feelings shared by a boy and a girl, it could be between a parent and a child, between two brothers, between friends, anyone.

Ravi as Santosh has done well, especially in scenes where he cuts loose and lets pent up feelings and thoughts blow out. Genelia has no trouble being the bubbly young girl, but her innocence and antics sometimes look like immature childish pranks. Santhanam, Premji and Sreenath as Ravi’s friends light up a few scenes with their comic acts, they come and go at many points without being there for too long. Sadagopan Ramesh, debuting on the big screen as Ravi’s elder brother doesn’t have much to do. Sathyan as the house servant has some scope for comedy and makes use of it adequately. Sayaji Shinde as Genelia’s father does a role that really does not sit well on him, the casting could have been better. But the real master is (though it may sound repetitive) is Prakash Raj, he proves his class yet again.

Overall, Santosh Subramaniam is a movie that you will enjoy. Yes, the screenplay does drag along a bit, especially a few scenes between Ravi and Genelia could have been trimmed, especially considering that the movie runs for three hours. The ‘Eppadi Irundha’ song has been shot in picturesque locations and is a visual treat. The camera and art too should be appreciated. Watch Santosh Subramaniam for that ‘feel good’ feeling, overlook minor glitches.

Priyamani in Classmates remake

This movie is produced by Gemini Film Circuit and Priyamani will be paired opposite Prithviraj in this movie. Malayalam Classmates movie is about the alumni of a college re-uniting after 15 years. AVM Productions’ next venture is titled Ayan. The launch of Suriya’s next film, Ayan, at the AC floor in AVM Studios on March 24, 2008. Ayan stars Suriya and Tamanna in the lead roles with a supporting cast Prabhu, Jagan and Karunas. Music for the film Ayan is by Harris Jayaraj. Harris Jayaraj scores the

music for the first time for an AVM film. Ayan directed by cinematographer turned director K.V. Anand.

M. Saravanan and M.S. Guhan will produce the film under the AVM banner. “Ayan” refers to Lord Muruga. The film is based on the concept that Lord Muruga reincarnates and vanquishes evil forces whenever necessary. Ayan shooting will be start once Suriya completes his his current project Vaaranam Aayiram.
