Here is another big film that Nayantara recently had signed up.
As soon as she completes her projects in Tollywood, Nayantara will begin working with Ajith in the remake of the Rajinikanth hit film 'Billa'. Even before she started to work in the film, she has accepted the offer to star with Danush in his next film.
The film with Danush will begin in the mid-2007, as soon as his film with Meera Jasmine hits the theatres.
Nayantara's career is going through a slow spell in Telugu for the time being atleast. She was being considered for the lead role in the remake of the 'Munnabhai 2' sequel. But according to unconfirmed news, the producer and director Prabhudeva have managed to convince Vidhya Balan to accept the role. The actress was unable to make her mind up about starring in the Telugu film for some strange reason.
Until confirmed news is released, Nayantara can keep her hopes alive. Meanwhile, her ex, Simbu, is still having troubles finding a leading heroine who is willing to star with him.

The whole action opens with the murder of a former minister who was facing a corruption charge, which was brought out by writer-activist Susan Mary Thomas (Padmapriya). Dr.Appan Menon IPS (Suresh Gopi), a brilliant but slightly eccentric police officer is entrusted with the investigation. He is madly in love with his wife, the beautiful Vaiga (Vimala Raman). Initially, he has some ego clashes with his colleague Alexander Mekkadan IPS (Siddique), but the two join hands to investigate the murder. Soon, two other politicians get killed and the panic is evident. The police nab a saadhu (Manoj K.Jayan), who is slightly abnormal and he agrees that the crime was done by him. But it proves wrong.
Meanwhile Susan becomes friendly with Appan and she learns more about him from his diary. There begins the dramatic twist in the tale. She realizes that things were much different from what she had perceived until then. Of course, revealing anything more about the story could kill the interest in the film.
The first thing about ‘Time’ is its “hidden agenda”. A chief minister who is devoted, strict and speaks in a peculiar slang, a police-chief named Raman Naik who speaks Malayalam in an accent and an award winning activist-writer whose mother has fought a legal battle for inheritance are evidently modeled on some of the well known figures from Kerala. The similarities do not end there. There is an agitation against ‘Pep-up’ cola by the local villagers spearheaded by Susan and a magazine called ‘Udyamam’, which the hero says with vengeance that it has its place in the waste basket. The film has enough dialogues which make it clear about the “leanings” of its makers.
If we can call all these their prerogative thanks to freedom of expression, the violence in the film is often beyond normal levels, to say the least. Some of the characters openly support violence and justifies it with lines as ‘attack is the best form of defense’. The film has some sub plots as well, which has been linked to the storyline pretty well. Shaji Kailas has crafted the film in style but it is heavily influenced by his last year hit ‘Chintamani Kolacase’. The cinematography by Rajaratnam make the frames look really good but the music disappoints.
Suresh Gopi does the role of the macho man with conviction, but haven’t we seen him in similar roles many times? Here, it is a dual role, the other one as Appan Menon’s autocratic father, which he performs nicely. Vimala Raman needs just to look stunning, which she does quite easily and Padmapriya comes good as the beauty with the brains. Manoj K Jayan has nothing much to do, but it is Siddique, who is at his best with his dialogue delivery and mannerisms.
Verdict: Watchable

Indrajeet, is an actor who believes in experimenting in different kinds of roles. Now, he is trying to turn into a full fledged romantic hero with Vinu Anand directed Heart Beats, which has a script by Babu Janardanan. However the film has been in the news when Anand first announced that Kajol is the heroine, later he said he said it is Simran's comeback vehicle.
Anyway the shooting of the film is taking place in Kochi. Scenes featuring Indrajeet, Manikuttan, Govindankutty, Arun.V.Narayanan and Anoop Chandran were being shot. No sign of Simran so far, at least on the location!
The film also has Cochin Haneefa, Jagathy, Charuhassan and others. It has music by George Peter. The film is set against the backdrop of a private Medical college and is said to be a romantic thriller.

| Director Bipin Prabhakar has chosen the story of a tough cop who has to go through some turbulent times both in his personal life and career, for his debut movie, Khaki. Scripted by T.A.Shahid who has some big hits like ‘Balettan’ and ‘Rajamanikyam’ to his credit, ‘Khakee’ never moves away from expected lines and have not much surprises in store for the viewer. Perhaps, since Prithviraj has put on the khaki uniform of an inspector in films like ‘Sathyam’ and ‘Vargam’ in recent years; the makers have tried to bring in family sentiments too to the story. In the end, that confusion of whether to present the film as a police story or as a family drama seems to have affected Khaki to a great extent. It is neither here nor there! Sub inspector Unnikrishnan (Prithviraj) is a daredevil who has been posted in an area where the diktats of the local kingpins have been going on unabated for long. His coming to the station mainly affects his brother Ramakrishnan (Mukesh) the most, as he is just a head constable and there by a junior in rank to his younger brother. Unnikrishnan antagonizes some of the rich and the powerful in the area straightaway. His actions even initiates rift in their family, with his sister-in-law (Meera Vasudev) being taken to her home by her father, a corrupt politician (Jagathy Sreekumar) when he was indicted in a case by the inspector. Things begin to become even worse as the rich Peethambaran, decide to take on Unnikrishnan. It’s a cat and mouse game from then on. The absence of a genuine storyline is the main problem with Khaki. Some individual plots have been sewn together and it affects the flow of the film in general. The film’s focus drift away as a result from the main theme, which itself is nothing fascinating or worth raving about. Prithviraj has a good screen presence and does his tough-act impressively, though his character seems to have been a continuation of his earlier police roles. Mukesh as the elder brother in uniform is most of the times, a fun to watch. Parvana (Manasa), the hero’s love interest is a TV reporter who has nothing much to do on the histrionic front. The dialogues sometimes sound too dramatic and predictable. The cinematography by Saloo George is ok ,but the music is nothing great .Khakiis half baked, one more insipid Pritviraj film, that can be skipped !Verdict: Average |

One of the big banners of recent times in Malluwood, Valiya Veettil International has always believed in the ability of the young directors to deliver. Starting from their first project Aparichithan which didn't make good returns, but introduced the director Sanjeev Sivan, they were not hesitant to create another big hit with the newcomer Anwar rasheed in Rajamanikyam.
And now in their latest venture they are introducing another debutant Bibin Prabhakar into direction. A former assistant to Ranjith, Shaji Kailaas and Padmakumar, Bibin believes very much in the potential of his hero Prithviraj and has created a demanding roles for him in the new film Khaki.
Prithviraj is wearing the police uniform once again in Khaki after his successful portrayals in Sathyam, Vargam, Police and Oruvan. After Sathyam where he played a good duty conscious cop and a corrupt cop in Vargam. Here he plays a Sub-Inspector once again, as SI Unnikrishnan, who moves around with his elder brother Ramakrishnan (Mukesh), the head constable!
Khaki is about the bonding between the two brothers and their problems told in a lighter way. For Ramakrishnan, the police uniform is something that he has to wear to ensure a comfortable life for his family. He is a family man who salutes his younger brother in the station, but in the house he is in his usual self enmeshed in the duties of his family and as an elder brother. But, Unnikrishnan sees the same job as an opportunity to serve society.
He is there to deal with every atrocities committed and to ensure law in the area. The story begins when the protagonist is transferred to the police station where his elder brother has been working for years. There he gets into the company of Parvana Varma, a bold TV reporter but gains a lot of enemies who are against his way of transforming the society into a better place.
As days goes by the brothers also enter into conflict as new problems come over which places both at different heads.
Prithviraj and Mukesh come together for the first time in this film along with Manasa and, Meera Vasudev who appear as their heroines. Jagathy, Janardanan, Nedumudi Venu, Sudheesh, Chandra lakshman , Bindhu Panikkar, P Sreekumar and Mammookoya are also in the cast of this film which has fiery dialogues and story lines by TA Shahid. The entire film was shot in and around Kozhikode, home town of the director, in a single schedule.
The film has Camera is by Salu George, editing by Ranjan Abraham, art direction by Sreeni, The music department of the film is handled by Girish Puthenchery and Deepak Dev.

![]() Suresh Gopi is acknowledged as the best actor in police uniform, while Pritviraj is also becoming popular as a cop, since Vargam. Both the films are carrying good pre-release reports. Shaji Kailas- Suresh Gopi combo with their specialty punch line dialogues have always worked with the masses and Time is rumoured to be based on IG Hrishiraj Singh's battle with the controversial IG Tommin Tachankary. Khakki director is Bipin Bhaskar, a close associate of Padma Kumar, Pritvi's favourite director. Meanwhile there are still doubts about the release of these two films which have been censored, as there is acute theatre shortage in major towns. Mammootty and Mohanlal are very particular that their Vishu releases ( Big-B and Chotta Mumbai) are dragged on by the theatres to complete 50 days run! |

| This is a horror film set against an old bungalow directed by George Kithu, who has earlier directed such films as 'Aadharam' and 'Savidham'. Horror, in Malayalam, traditionally means black-magic, horrifying screeches, women clad in white sarees, superstitions and so on. Predictably 'Suryakireedom' is on the same lines. The story begins when Pooja (Remya Nambeeshan) and three of her fellow engineering students decide to occupy a lonely bungalow, during their study leave. The girls enjoy their stint there but little do they realize about the trouble in store for them! Pooja falls sick with the ghost of a young woman, Urmila (Nitya Das), getting into her body. A kurta-clad tantrik, Vishnu Narayanan (Shammi Thilakan), is brought in by the girl's father (Subair). He finds out that Urmila had committed suicide in an effort to save her life from the fiery Sivaram (Indrajith). Now, the ghost is all set to take revenge upon Sivaram, who has a doctorate in metaphysics and has been doing studies in black-magic ever since. Believe it or faint, his powers rest on three lights. The film is all about the revenge of the ghost and ends on a happy note as the evil yields to the good. In all fairness, the just below two-hour long film could at best be suited for the dozens of magazines in Malayalam thriving on 'pulp fiction' and sensationalism. The story rarely goes beyond the ghost-like bungalow where it all happens. Some murders and suicides happen but the rule of law seems to be surprisingly absent in that territory. Even the engineering students or their family who come in swanky cars and dresses in trendy attires prefer to depend on black-magic to take on the villain. The film supports superstitions and has a storyline, which defies logic, most of the times. Goofs are there in plenty. Think of a girl, who is tied on to her bed as the ghost has got into her body lying there with matching lipsticks and eye shadows! The script is fast paced and has been edited with that in mind, but the dialogues are artificial and predictable. Indrajith is convincing as the menacing baddie. Shammi Thilakan seems to be heavily influenced by his illustrious father, in his acting. Nitya Das and Remya Nameeshan have to scream aloud or look pretty. The rest of the cast has nothing much to contribute to. The cinematography is just average and background music often reminds us that we are watching a plot which could have been pretty alright some four decades back. |

Director Kamal's latest boarding school story and coming-of-age feel good romantic movie is glossy and looks like a Bollywood candy floss film. He has made it with a lot of extravaganza, technically chic, terrific music and picturisation, and a vivacious cast of newcomers.
But the film lacks a solid storyline, Ravi Kumar's script has nothing new and too artificial for the audience to stomach it. Kamal is one director who understands the pulse of the young audience in Kerala who are weaned on a steady diet of Hollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood movies.
The director pays a lot of attention to presentation and feel of the film. His characters wear designer clothes, speak in Manglish ( a mixture of English and Malayalam) and sing songs in exotic locations. There is an audience for his kind of films, which are told with a lot of humour, colour and sentiments.
The story is set in an International school `Good Shepherd` in Ootty, where only the very rich can study. The hero Sam (new boy Rajith Menon) is a poor guy who is a grounds man at the school who assists the Football coach Vijay (Rahman). His wife Rekha (Jenny who is Meera Jasmine's sister) a teacher at the school and her sister Neetu ( new girl and Mumbai model Aksha) a student at the school live with him.
The school is efficiently run by the Principal (Captain Raju), and his staff. Meanwhile the girl at the school mess Maria (Mukta George) has a soft corner for Sam as she grew up with him. Sam has been abandoned by his father Victor Mukesh) a great yester year footballer, who now comes back to live with him after he becomes mad!!
The rich kids at the school especially top football star Felix is on drugs, and when Sam finds him having grass, Vijay gets him kicked out of the school. Felix swears revenge and goes to `St Xaviers` another school which has been winning all the football titles. Now Vijay takes Sam under his tutelage and along with the help of Neetu and other students gets him enrolled in the school, a 'la' Munnabhai style!
Sam is able to wear the jersey of the school and represent them, but others students in the team do not co-operate with him. At the same time Nitu feels offended when he does not respond to her, creating more problems for him. Will Good Shepherd win the trophy this year in the inter school championship? All this is told in the climax big clash on the football field!
Kamal's Goal falls a few yards behind the post because it has all the essence of a brat pack film with all gloss but is unable to score the winning goal due to lack of a strong and innovative script . Added to that why introduce the Mukesh character, just for some fake sentiments? Too much graphics also act as a speed breaker to the flow of the film.
This vanilla-coated story telling however has its moments. All the newcomers play their parts well. Rajith Menon stands out for a newcomer with his natural and spontaneous act, while Mukta George steals your heart, and Aksha looks beautiful. Rahman does a neat job as the coach, while the guy who did Felix role is riveting as the villain.
Vidyasagar's music and Kamal's picturisation are the high points in the film, especially the duet picturised in Phuket islands. P.Sukumar's camera feasts on the rich locales, and his multi camera set up to film the football matches adds grandeour.
On the whole if it had a better script, the film would have been as exciting as a football match, still Goal at two hours is a time pass entertainer.

After the Vishu bang of big films is over, the most awaited film for this summer is not a super star film. But it’s Kamal's Goal with all newcomers!
The film with the backdrop of a boarding school in Ootty has football and love as the theme. The film which is planned to make a release on this May 11th is eagerly awaited by all the youth audience in Kerala.
The film scripted by Kalavoor Ravikumar bases on some of the fresh characterizations in Malluwood. The major protagonists of the movie are Sam, Nithu and Mary Lukko, all played by newcomers.
Sam
He is the guy who waits at the side lines of the foot ball court to throw in the ball that goes out of the fields, when football matches are on at the Good Shepherd School grounds at Ootty. His father Samuel was also a footballer who had played for the Mohun Bagan club. Actually he is an orphan, who was left alone, after his father went to find his mother who was long been missing. This job at school was the one that kept Sam going. The chief football coach of the school, Vijay has a special interest on Sam, as he knows that Sam also plays good football. Sam is being presented on screen by 19 year old Rajath Menon, who is a mechanical engg student at Chennai.
Nithu
She is a plus one student at the Good Shepherd School. She is also the one and only daughter of Coach Vijay's elder sister. Her parents are working at the gulf and Nithu is at present staying with Vijay. She is the smartest girl of the school with a great humor sense. Nithu is presented on screen by Aksha, a 16 year old model. She hails from Bombay and has appeared in a number of national ad campaigns like Mister White, Eva, Horlicks and Stayfree.
Maria
She is the best friend of Sam. She is from a family which was very close to Sam's father. Maria is presently a worker in the canteen of the school. Played by Muktha, who shooted to stardom with her pivotal roles in Achanurangaatha Veedu and Thamirabharani, the actress is taking a break after this film for her studies.
Mary Luco
She is one of the strict teachers in Good Shepherd. She believes that the extra curricular activities has nothing to do with her pupil's development and that they must always concentrate on studies rather than wasting time on other activities. Kamal is introducing Dolly Bindre from Hollywood for this role. Even though she is too busy in Bollywood with a number of comedy character waiting for her, she found time to be with Goal, her debut film in Malluwood.
As the school regularly makes a washout failures in inter school league matches, the coach is forced to bring in Sam, who is a ground staff of the school. He takes an admission in the school and become a member of the football team. This creates a lot of tensions from the existing team mates as they are not prepared to have a match with a ground staff, playing for their eleven. But Sam has his priorities and a group of good friends. The film makes a youthful travel through the football matches between two schools that are arch rivals and the changes that makes in the relations of the onlookers and the players of the game.
The others in the cast are Rahman, who plays a football coach, Mukesh, Jenny (Meera Jasmine's sister), Ambika Mohan and Salim Kumar. A lot of young students make their debut through the film. The film has some great music by Vidyasagar, and camera is by P.Sukumar.
A lot of hopes have been pinned around this romantic sports flick as it by the master Creator of Youthful Films, Kamal. He is one director who understands the pulse of the youth and has dished out hits with newcomers like Niram, Nammal and Swapnakoodu. So just wait for a couple of days more, to see a golden goal, on Screen.
